History
Casa Hafiz is named after Persian poet, Shams-ud-din Muhammad Hafiz (1320-1389). Poetry is a national art in Persia, somewhat like opera in Italy. People at every social level know the great poets, are passionate about their favorites and quote them constantly in everyday conversation.
In his early 20’s, Hafiz’ love poems began to circulate in Shiraz, the beautiful city in Southern Persia where he was born. His poems expressed every nuance and stage of his growing understanding of love. He explored different forms and levels of love: his delight in nature’s beauty, his romantic courtship, his sweet affection for his wife, his tender feelings for his child and, like Rumi, his extraordinary romance with the Divine.
Casa Hafiz was designed for the exploration of your own different forms and levels of love. Notice as you nestle in, the tree-shaded patio, the comfortable eloquence of your bedroom and whatever other sweet affections you can now devote time to by the ocean.
“The heart is
The thousand-stringed instrument
That can only be tuned with Love”
-Hafiz
